What is the best text-to-speech tool in the game today?

Hello everyone, I’m in search of a text-to-speech (TTS) tool that mimics a human voice accurately. I intend to use it for editing my YouTube videos. There are numerous TTS platforms available, but I’m unsure which one to choose. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance.

Check out CoquiTTS! It’s a free open-source tool that works with bark and tortoise voices through an easy-to-use interface. You can tweak the bark voice to your liking.

Plus, there’s a commercial option available if you’re interested. Personally, I find it better and more affordable than some alternatives.

You can find the code on GitHub at this link: GitHub - coqui-ai/TTS: 🐸💬 - a deep learning toolkit for Text-to-Speech, battle-tested in research and production

And the API is accessible at coqui.ai.

@MissNicklaus I use a Google Text-to-Speech tool for its high-quality voices and natural sound, but I recommend you to check out Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services. It Provides natural voices and easy integration.

Good Lucky!

I agree with you, @Dane, but when compared to some commercial TTS solutions, CoquiTTS might offer fewer voice choices.

Consider Amazon Polly which offers a wide range of lifelike voices and supports various languages.

Hello @MissNicklaus Before you shift from one Text-to-speech tool to another, what you need to consider is your specific needs and preferences.

Some popular options known for their high-quality and natural-sounding voices include Google Test-to-Speech and Amazon Polly.

So it is good to shop around and choose the one that best suits your requirements.

Hi there, Although AI isn’t free, it does have the most amazing, lifelike voices I’ve ever heard—it really does sound like a human speaking. Excellent value, in my opinion. I subscribe to their Creator plan; they have a great range of voices with outstanding quality.

Hello, in my perspective, I like WellSaid Lab because it has a free tier, however I believe Eleven Labs is better.

As a YouTuber, I’ve spent countless hours editing my videos and exploring various text-to-speech (TTS) tools to find the most human-like options. After trying several platforms, I found that tools like Amazon Polly and Google Text-to-Speech offer impressive quality and natural-sounding voices. However, my personal favorite has been Descript, which not only provides realistic TTS but also integrates seamlessly with video editing. This has saved me so much time and effort. If you’re looking for a TTS tool for your YouTube videos, I’d recommend giving Descript a try for its versatility and quality.
