I am just getting started on my computer science degree, and the advancements in AI that are being made every day truly terrify me. I apologize if this seems like a repeated or unimportant inquiry, but since you guys are the ones who know this technology the best, I would like to know what you think. Can software engineering truly be automated by AI (LLMs)? Can teams of ten developers be reduced to one? And how much further advancement in AI software engineering is realistically possible? Is it possible to automate fields like data science and AI engineering as well?
