Voice synthesis AI designed specifically for character impersonation?

I’ve been searching all day for an AI voice generator or text-to-speech (TTS) tool that’s suitable for creating character voices. I’m not planning to use it commercially, just for personal use like when playing DnD. Ideally, I need something versatile enough to mimic voices like orcs, dwarves, elves, etc.

My preference is for a tool that can be installed locally on my PC so I don’t have to rely on an internet connection. I’m willing to make a one-time purchase, but I’m not interested in any subscriptions or monthly payments.

If anyone has suggestions or recommendations, I’d really appreciate the help. This search has been driving me crazy for the past 8 hours or so.

Personally, I believe that Wellsaid and elevenlabs are the two best options right now. I prefer elevenlabs to wellsaid since it allows you to clone voices and direct them to get a little more emotion out of them.

For producing character voices in games like D&D, I recommend using tools like Voicemod or Voicemod Clips. Voicemod is most commonly used for real-time voice alteration in online games and chats, but it can also be used to generate character voices. It provides a range of effects and is available for offline use after a single payment.

I used voice gen to sing not long ago, but I had to use vocoder and micro stretch each tone.
