It is true that the academic evaluation process can be convoluted and uneven at times. It is depressing when justice seems to be meted out in an uneven manner. Despite our best efforts to maintain openness and uniformity, choices can nevertheless be influenced by human biases and variances. Recall that you are not the only one going through these difficulties. Continue moving forward, and think about talking to other members of the academic community about your experience.
