Master's Degree in ML/AI worth it in 2024?

Hello!

I’ve realised that there are several threads on the ML folks Forum about the relevancy of a Master’s in ML or AI but most of which are quite old. Therefore, in the year 2024, is it wise to pursue such a degree, intensely bearing in mind industry trends and innovation?

Furthermore, I wonder about such other master’s degrees in CS that can help improve employment opportunities.

Addition:

As for now, I am employed under the title of a Software Engineer and my employer will be a part of the tuition fees as well, nevertheless, all of this has to be done for the best reason and with optimum effectiveness. I must say that I prefer business and engineering programs; however, I am eager to discover other useful fields as well.

Do it if you like it.

ML/AI is saturated to a degree but there’s plenty of data scientists that can’t/won’t learn any software engineering.

Never pursue a degree solely for the job prospects, salary, or status it may bring. Choose a field that you are passionate about and enjoy spending your days in. You’ll find greater satisfaction in your decision this way.
